Dear friends,

When the weather starts to turn chilly and the first Christmas crackers appear on the supermarket shelves it is near impossible to resist giving in to the early onset of Christmas hysteria. But here at Sally and Alice Travel Co. HQ we have counted a good 9 weeks of travel left between now and late December when the more expensive festive/peak season sets in, and what’s more we have plenty of tempting offers to entice you off on a last hurrah in 2015…

This is a great time to visit the Caribbean - the hurricane season is almost over but the busy tourist season doesn’t start until Christmas, so hotels are quieter and accommodation and flight prices are lower than normal. With more than 700 islands spread across hundreds of miles, Caribbean weather is generally divided into southern and northern regions, with islands in the south a little warmer than those in the north (these islands also have the advantage of being generally considered outside the hurricane zone).

Set on a private island in the British Virgin Islands and accessed via Antigua, Peter Island Resort and Spa is offering a last minute ‘stay 7 nights pay only 5′ deal for travel between now and 19 December 2015 in their Ocean View and Ocean View Deluxe Rooms.

For peace, seclusion and the perfect balance of wilderness and luxury head to Petit St Vincent (accessed via Barbados) who are also offering a ‘stay 7 pay 5′ offer in their one and two-bedroomed cottages.

November marks the end of the rainy season and the transition into the dry season in the Maldives. You can still expect a number of short, sharp showers, but these should only be brief interruptions to your holiday in paradise (!) as the air temperature is a steady 30°C while the sea temperature is a fairly constant 28°C, perfect for wallowing! More good news lies in the fact that November is one of the best months for price cuts to the Maldives.

A relative newcomer on the scene, the fresh and contemporary Amilla Fushi is offering a ‘stay 7 pay 5′ deal in their Lagoon House/Ocean Lagoon House/Ocean Reef Houses and a ‘stay 7 pay 6′ for the Beach House/ Family 2 Bedroom Beach House and Tree Houses – valid for travel between now and 19 December 2015.

NIYAMA is a luxury 5* Indian Ocean resort set on two pristine islands on the Dhaalu Atoll, perfect for both couples and families alike with exceptional watersports and an Explorers kids club. Up until 10 January 2016 they are offering a ‘stay 7 pay 5′ or ‘stay 4 pay 3′ deal.

October, November and early December is a great time to visit Mauritius before the summer wet season and the accompanying humidity sets in. During these months you can expect steady temperatures of 28°C – 29°C, peaking in December at around 30°C.

The highlight of our stay at The Oberoi was the resort’s beautifully landscaped gardens, which are dotted with Indonesian sculptures, water features and infinity pools. Stay 7 nights for the price of 5  at The Oberoi between now and 18 December 2015.

Another of our favourite Mauritian hotels, Constance Le Prince Maurice caters equally well to honeymooners as it does to families. They are offering up to a 20% discount on stays of 5 nights or more between now and 22 December 2015.

The north of India is a great destination in November and December – in Delhi you can look forward to 10 hours of sunshine and temperatures of 28°C. This is also a good time to visit the “golden triangle” of Jaipur, Delhi and Agra, as well as the Himalayas – which were the highlight of Sally’s recent visit.

Travel between now and 20 December 2015 and receive 10% off the Shakti Kumaon 7 night journey – the perfect way to explore this unspoilt corner of the Indian Himalayas in style, staying in luxury village houses on an exclusive basis before finishing at Shakti 360 Leti with some of the most fantastic Himalayan views you could possibly imagine (pictured above).

For those of you that are in need of a quick fix of sunshine and blue skies but loathe to take on a long haul flight, try Marrakech - a mere 3.5 hour hop from London.  In the heart of the medina our old favourites Riad Farnatchi and Dar les Cigognes both have last minute discounts, whilst out of town The Capaldi and Kasbah Tamadot have free night offers on, both still within easy striking distance of the airport.
